Missing Florida Woman Found Safe: Community Celebrates Reunion

A Florida woman who had been reported missing in South Carolina has been located unharmed. Jessica Rapsys, 27, was found in Allendale County on Friday, August 16, 2024. She had last been seen on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, when her car was discovered near railroad tracks in Martin, SC.

The Allendale County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude for the collective efforts in the search, which involved various agencies including the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. Sheriff James Freeman noted, “Finding Jessica was a team effort. We all worked together and did not give up hope.”

Rapsys is currently being taken to a hospital for evaluation and any necessary medical attention. The Rapsys family has thanked everyone involved in the search and has requested privacy during this time.

A statement from her friend, Alanna Sabatini, described Rapsys as a beloved individual in Jacksonville, saying, “To know Jess wasn’t to only love her, but to be fully loved by her. She is the life of the party, the support system to so many and a friend to everyone she meets. We just want her home.”

Authorities had issued a call for information about Rapsys after she was reported missing on August 13. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the Allendale County Sheriff’s Office or SLED.
