Authorities continue to search for ten-year-old Gabrielle “Gabby” Long, who was reported missing after her father, Gordon Long, notified police on October 29, while the child’s mother, Portia Davis, was incarcerated. New developments in the case include the release of video footage showing Davis’s arrest for alleged shoplifting at a Dollar Tree on October 17, which resulted in her spending two weeks in jail. Davis, who faces a $100,000 bond for neglect of a child without great bodily harm following a second arrest on November 4, remains behind bars.
Gabby was last seen with her mother getting off a Greyhound bus at the Florida Mall on June 30. Prior to Gabby’s disappearance, the family frequently traveled between Central and South Florida, including Orlando and other parts of Orange County. Investigators from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office have been focusing their efforts on an abandoned motel along West U.S. 192, considered a dangerous area, as they believe it might contain clues regarding Gabby’s whereabouts. This location is also where Gordon reported seeing Gabby and Portia in May.
In an emotional plea, Gordon Long expressed his fears and sadness over his daughter’s disappearance, stating that he has been tormented by the situation. He mentioned that he last saw both Gabby and Portia after an argument in Celebration, where they were living temporarily in a hotel. He has taken a polygraph test, which he passed, affirming his innocence regarding Gabby’s disappearance.
A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Gabby’s location. Local authorities plan to intensify their search efforts at the abandoned resort in Celebration in the coming days. Investigators urge anyone with information, particularly about the movements of Gabrielle and Portia, to contact Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477). Gordon Long’s heartfelt appeal reflects the urgency and desperation surrounding the case, highlighting the emotional toll on families affected by such harrowing circumstances.
