Incomplete application forms are leading to considerable delays in the distribution of back-to-school assistance payments, as highlighted by Education Minister Aseri Radrodro. He addressed the concerns raised by parents and guardians about the unreceived assistance, noting that families were given a seven-week period to complete and submit their application forms at schools, with a deadline of December 12 of the previous year.

Minister Radrodro identified that the primary issue contributing to these delays is the inaccuracies found in many applications. He pointed out that several submissions were missing crucial information regarding students, including family numbers, names, and mobile phone details. Properly completed forms are subsequently forwarded to the Ministry of Finance for processing.

The Minister emphasized the distinct roles of each department, stating, “Once we fill those forms, we send them to the Ministry of Finance.” He also mentioned that any forms that are incomplete or contain errors are returned to the Ministry of Education for further review. It is important to note that the Ministry of Education does not manage the payments directly; rather, it plays a role in facilitating the overall process.

Minister for Finance Esrom Immanuel has conveyed optimism that any outstanding payments are expected to be processed by the end of February. This timeline offers hope for families eager to receive the necessary financial support as they prepare for the upcoming school year. The authorities are committed to addressing these issues and expediting assistance for those in need.
