The family of Linda Brown, a special education teacher at Robert Healy Elementary School, is urgently seeking help from the public as she has not been heard from for two days. Brown, 53, was last seen on Saturday in the 4500-block of South Martin Luther King Drive, not far from her home in Bronzeville. Her husband, Antwon Brown, shared his deep concern and heartbreak as they continue their search for her.
Antwon reported that he last saw Linda on Friday night when they watched a movie together before going to bed. The following morning, he woke up to find her missing. Initially thinking she might have gone to her regular acupuncture appointment, Antwon grew increasingly worried when she failed to arrive and did not respond to calls throughout the day.
Worried family members began retracing her last known steps and calling hospitals, but to no avail. By Saturday afternoon, the situation became more dire as they had not heard from Linda, who typically maintains contact.
The school’s principal sent out a communication urging the community to assist with any information regarding Linda’s whereabouts. In response to the distressing situation, the school has made mental health resources available for students grappling with the sudden absence of their teacher.
Antwon described the anxiety and fear surrounding Linda’s disappearance, expressing his love and longing for her return. Her vehicle, a blue Honda Civic with Illinois license plate CX57470, has yet to be located by Chicago police. Anyone with possible information is being urged to contact the Area One SVU detectives at 312-747-8380.
This troubling situation highlights the unity of the community in seeking answers and support for Linda’s family during this challenging time, as they hope for her safe return.
