A 23-year-old man who had been reported missing after his last sighting at O’Hare International Airport has been found safe and safely reunited with his family, according to the Chicago police. Elijah Joseph Hoard was located on Tuesday, bringing relief to his loved ones.

Elijah was last seen on February 27, after passing through security at the airport. Surveillance footage revealed him leaving Terminal 5 and apparently heading toward another terminal. His family reported that Elijah was visiting relatives in Chicago and was set to return to France when he went missing.

Described as 6 feet 3 inches tall with brown eyes and black hair, Elijah was wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and cream-colored shoes on the day of his disappearance.

His sister, Anaia Hoard, expressed concern for her brother’s well-being, mentioning that he suffers from schizophrenia and needs his medication. “If he doesn’t take his medication, I fear he may get too low and that might be a scary place for him to be,” she said. Despite the fears, Anaia remained composed, hoping for a positive outcome and waiting for updates from the police.

The case highlights the importance of mental health awareness, especially for those who are vulnerable and may be separated from their support systems. While further details about the incident have not been released, the safe recovery of Elijah brings a hopeful conclusion to this distressing situation.
