When Litara Ieremia Allan was crowned Miss Pacific Islands 2025 in Honiara, Solomon Islands, she embarked on a transformative journey characterized by the importance of listening. This experience has connected her deeply with the voices of the land and sea, as well as the stories of various communities, enhancing the rich cultural landscape of the Pacific region.

“My journey as Miss Pacific Islands 2025 has been one of learning how to listen well,” Litara shared. Her approach begins with understanding her personal narrative—recognizing her roots and familial background—then extending that awareness to embrace broader networks within the Pacific Islands. This mindset has significantly enriched her travels and engagements throughout her reign.

She draws inspiration from the Samoan concept of “paema auli,” which symbolizes women as peacemakers embodying strength and grace in the face of adversity. “It holds many meanings, but I see it as the role of one who stands strong yet remains calm, bringing grace where there has been pain,” she remarked. In her role, Litara has sought to be a unifying force, spreading messages of harmony and understanding wherever her journey has taken her.

As a proud Samoan, Litara believes firmly in the innovative spirit of Pacific Islanders, who have the power to inspire through storytelling in diverse fields such as business, politics, education, and the arts. She expresses a desire for the global community to engage with the Pacific in ways that honor its rich heritage and insights.

“There is so much to learn from the ‘unsaids’ in our communities,” Litara emphasized, advocating for a deeper understanding of the Pacific that prioritizes genuine engagement over superficial visits.

As the countdown begins for the next Miss Pacific Islands Pageant, set to occur in Nadi from February 13 to 14, 2026, Litara’s message serves as both a challenge and an invitation. She urges future leaders to listen attentively, serve humbly, and carry forth the unique strength of the Pacific community.

“God’s plans for you are wilder and more beautiful than you could ever imagine. But you can’t do it without Him. Serve your people—with or without a crown,” she advises aspiring young women in leadership roles, emphasizing that true service goes beyond titles. This uplifting message reinforces the importance of community and interconnectedness, which lie at the heart of Pacific Islander culture.
