Miss Fiji Pageant Returns in Suva This December

The Miss Fiji Pageant is set to return this December after an eight-year break, taking place in Suva from December 10 to 13. The winner will earn the opportunity to represent Fiji at the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant scheduled for next year.

The initiative was announced by the Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa, during a launch event in Suva. He emphasized that these pageants aim to highlight local economic activities and foster civic pride through creativity and engagement within communities.

Fiji has also been chosen to host the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant in February, which Nalumisa pointed out as a significant opportunity to stimulate economic growth, particularly in the tourism sector and associated logistics. This event is expected to attract interest from the Fijian Diaspora in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, providing them with the chance to compete for the title and serve as ambassadors for Fiji.

Representatives from major municipalities across the country will participate in the Miss Fiji Pageant, showcasing the rich culture and heritage of Fiji to audiences throughout the Pacific.

With Fiji stepping back into the limelight of pageantry, excitement builds for the events ahead, promising to reaffirm the nation’s commitment to celebrating its beauty and diversity. This revival offers a chance to not only reconnect with tradition but also to engage the youth and promote positive social initiatives within the Fijian community.
