KSI has voiced his outrage over being replaced as the CEO of Misfits Boxing by Andrew Tate, who is set to make his boxing debut in a match organized by the promotion. The unexpected announcement was made on a Thursday evening, revealing that Tate, a British-American influencer, would face TV personality Chase DeMoor in Dubai on December 20.
This development comes as KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olatunji, steps down from his position as CEO of Misfits, a company he co-founded in 2022 with Mams Taylor, Kalle Sauerland, and Nisse Sauerland. Expressing his frustration on social media platform X, KSI wrote, “This year people are trying to test me fr (for real). WHAT THE ACTUAL F*** IS GOING ON?” He further remarked, “This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Let’s make ANDREW TATE THE CEO OF MISFITS?!? ARE YOU F***ING SERIOUS?”
KSI’s discontent extended to Taylor, as he criticized him for prioritizing Misfits over his personal management, saying, “F*** Mams. Bro has been focused on Misfits rather than managing me lol. And you decide to do this s***.”
Andrew Tate, 38, is a former professional kickboxer with an impressive record of 76 wins, including 32 knockouts, against 9 losses and 1 draw. He has also participated in mixed martial arts, but his notoriety largely stems from his presence as a controversial internet personality. Tate has faced several serious allegations, including rape and human trafficking, which he and his brother Tristan deny. In May, the UK Crown Prosecution Service announced a total of 21 charges against the brothers, and they are presently under investigation in both Romania and potentially the United States.
Interestingly, Tate’s last fight was in December 2020, where he secured a victory through technical knockout in a kickboxing match, but his transition to boxing under Misfits marks a significant return to the sport in a new capacity.
This shake-up at Misfits Boxing reflects the evolving landscape of influencer-driven sports and entertainment, raising questions about the responsibilities and reputations of those in leadership positions within such organizations. The situation also highlights KSI’s continuing influence in the boxing realm, juxtaposed with Tate’s controversial persona. Ultimately, the developments within Misfits Boxing promise to create ripples in both the sports and entertainment worlds, positioning KSI and Tate at the forefront of future discussions.
