Rural and maritime communities continue to encounter significant hurdles in accessing essential government services, prompting a call for enhanced efforts from government officials. Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Mosese Bulitavu, emphasized the importance of public servants during his recent visit to the Eastern Division, where he was received with traditional honors and briefed by the Office of the Commissioner Eastern Division.

Bulitavu acknowledged the critical role that public servants play in delivering government services to remote areas and urged officers to build upon the foundations already laid. He reminded them of their responsibility as representatives of the government within the communities they serve, highlighting the need for integrity and strong leadership.

To ensure that citizens feel valued and heard, Bulitavu stressed the significance of forming solid partnerships. He advised officers to foster close relationships with provincial councils, traditional leaders, government agencies, and other stakeholders, which he believes is crucial for effectively delivering services.
