Miller Moss, a familiar name among USC fans, will take the reins as the starting quarterback. Moss, who joined the Trojans in the 2021 recruiting class, has been patiently waiting for his opportunity behind Williams, the anticipated No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
Moss showcased his skills during the 2023 DIRECTV Holiday Bowl held in San Diego, where he threw for an impressive 372 yards and set multiple records with six touchdown passes. This performance was particularly notable for a player making his first collegiate start.
As the Trojans face off against No. 12 LSU in a highly anticipated Week 1 matchup at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Moss will have the chance to prove himself as the full-time starter.
Moss’s journey at USC began hesitantly; he had limited playing time in his first two seasons, with only 27 pass attempts overall. Despite this, he expressed a deep commitment to the university and the team. After patience and meticulous practice, Moss earned the starting position following the departure of Williams to the NFL.
In high school, Moss made his mark at Bishop Alemany High in California, where he was recognized for his outstanding performance. As a recruit, he was ranked as one of the top quarterbacks in his class, ultimately choosing USC over several powerhouse programs.
