Miley Cyrus is set to celebrate the iconic “Hannah Montana” series with a special 20th Anniversary event coming to Disney+ in March. Titled the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special,” this program will be filmed in front of a live studio audience and promises fans an intimate experience with Cyrus.
The special will feature an in-depth interview conducted by Alex Cooper, host of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, during which Cyrus will reflect on the experiences, music, and memories that shaped a significant part of her life and that of her fans. Audiences can expect to see exclusive archival footage along with a revival of beloved sets from the show, including the Stewart family living room and the iconic Hannah Montana closet.
Cyrus expressed her deep connection to the show in a statement. “Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans,” she said. She further noted her gratitude for the enduring significance of the series and her desire to celebrate the milestone with fans who have supported her over the past two decades.
Disney Branded Television president Ayo Davis echoed Cyrus’s sentiments, emphasizing the show’s legacy. “‘Hannah Montana’ opened the door for so many fans to dream big, sing loud, and embrace every side of themselves,” Davis stated. “Partnering with Miley on this special is a dream, and we want it to be a love letter to the fans.”
The special is produced by HopeTown Entertainment and Unwell Productions, with Cyrus and Cooper among the executive producers, along with showrunner Ashley Edens, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, and Matt Kaplan.
In anticipation of the special, Disney+ will also launch a dedicated “Hannah Montana” collection, which includes streaming all four seasons of the series, the film “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” and “Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert.” The “Hannah Montana” series has amassed over half a billion hours streamed globally on Disney+ so far, further solidifying its iconic status.
