Meteorologist Myles Henderson has shared an updated forecast indicating a windy midweek ahead with skies expected to clear. Following several gloomy days characterized by cloud cover and sporadic showers from a stationary front, conditions are set to improve as humidity levels begin to drop.

Today’s weather features predominantly cloudy skies with spotty drizzle, with high temperatures reaching the mid-70s alongside an increase in wind speeds. The easterly winds may result in minor flooding during high tide periods due to their persistent nature.

As the week progresses, Henderson anticipates a transition to clearer skies on Wednesday, with conditions becoming partly cloudy. High temperatures are expected to fall into the low 70s, and the winds will remain gusty, potentially exceeding 30 mph. By the end of the week, the mix of sun and clouds will continue, while humidity decreases and winds start to ease.

Pollen levels remain low, particularly for ragweed, while the UV index is rated as medium. Air quality is good, classified as Code Green, but there is a very high population of mosquitoes in the area.

On the tropical front, Hurricane Humberto is generating dangerous surf and rip currents along the East Coast. Forecasters predict that Humberto will weaken as it moves north of Bermuda. Meanwhile, Hurricane Imelda has strengthened to a category 1 hurricane, with forecasts suggesting it will move away from the Bahamas towards Bermuda with sustained winds around 75 mph.
