Microsoft has successfully restored the majority of its application services, including Outlook and Teams, following outages that began early Monday morning. In an update shared on X around 11 p.m. ET, the company announced that all affected services have resumed functionality except for Outlook on the web, which remains partially impacted for a limited number of users.

The tech giant is currently investigating the lingering issues with Outlook on the web, including delays in the mail queue. Initially, Microsoft identified a problem concerning access to Exchange Online and disruptions within Microsoft Teams Calendar features.

Reports of the outages started surfacing around 8 a.m. ET, as DownDetector, an online service monitoring technical disruptions, indicated that users globally were experiencing difficulties. By 11 a.m. ET, thousands of complaints had been logged, with many users taking to social media to express their frustration.

Some users described their experiences on social media, with one remarking, “#Microsoft outages to my planned productive work day,” while another pleaded, “Microsoft, I need you guys to fix this Outlook outage fr. A girl is trying to push out all her work before this holiday.”

This incident follows a similar bout of outages for Microsoft 365 that occurred in September, emphasizing the challenges that the platform has faced with service reliability.
