Mickey Haller Returns: What Trials Await in Season 3?

The Lincoln Lawyer is making its return to Netflix, with Manuel Garcia-Rulfo reprising his role as Mickey Haller, the savvy attorney who operates from the back seat of his Lincoln. In the upcoming third season, Haller finds himself embroiled in another intense court case as he strives for justice in the murder of a close friend. As always in Haller’s world, the lines between innocence and guilt are blurred.

In a recent interview, executive producers Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez described the challenges Mickey faces this season, saying, “We see Mickey struggling with so many things at the same time—with romance, with the wives, with the cases. You never expect what’s going to happen.”

To date, the series has only adapted three of Michael Connelly’s Lincoln Lawyer novels. Yet there is still a wealth of material available, including The Reversal, The Law of Innocence, and his latest work, Resurrection Walk. Season 3 will focus on The Gods of Guilt, where Haller defends both a living and deceased former client. This particular novel is notable for connecting two of Connelly’s iconic characters: Haller and Bosch. Yes, Mickey’s half-brother is Harry Bosch, though the lead from the Amazon Prime Video adaptation may not appear in the Netflix series.

As for viewing details, the third season premieres on Netflix on Thursday, October 18. All ten episodes will be available at 3:00 a.m. ET, so fans can dive right into more of Mickey Haller’s adventures.

Currently, Netflix has not confirmed a renewal for Season 4. The third season was announced the same month as the premiere of Season 2 in 2023, so there is hope that successful viewership numbers might lead to further adaptations of Connelly’s extensive series. In The Reversal, Haller’s story takes a turn as he even steps into the role of prosecutor, a development many are eager to see unfold.
