Originally, Michigan’s season opener was slated for September 5 at Michigan Stadium. Coach Sherrone Moore expressed his enthusiasm about the potential game, noting the unique football and educational experiences it would offer the players. He emphasized the importance of exposing student-athletes to different cultures, highlighting that the program has previously traveled to Italy, France, and South Africa. This match would mark a significant milestone as Michigan has never participated in a game outside of North America.
