Michigan State Football Scores Big with Tyren Wortham Commitment!

Michigan State football has made a significant addition to its recruiting class by securing a commitment from Tyren Wortham, a talented wide receiver from Florida. Wortham announced his decision on Sunday, having initially committed to Central Florida in April.

As a four-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite, Wortham is recognized as the 59th-best wide receiver nationally. ESPN places him at 265th among all prospects in his class. Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 175 pounds, Wortham is not only a promising athlete in football, but also excels in track and field as a sprinter at Sarasota’s Booker High School. His recruitment by Michigan State gained momentum following a visit on June 20, where the Spartans became the final school he evaluated after visits to UCF, Georgia, and Kansas State. Wortham received offers from 33 schools, with 28 of them competing in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Michigan State’s recent recruiting efforts have been impressive, propelling their 2026 class into the national top 25 rankings. The Spartans have garnered 14 commitments in just the first 17 days of June, bringing their total to 19 members and placing them 23rd overall and ninth among Big Ten teams as of Sunday evening. Wortham is notably the second wide receiver to join this dynamic class, following Zachary Washington, a high school teammate of backup quarterback Alessio Milivojevic, who committed the previous week. Wortham ranks as the second-best prospect in MSU’s class, just behind offensive lineman Collin Campbell, who also made his commitment this month.

The excitement surrounding Wortham’s commitment reflects the ongoing positive momentum in Michigan State’s recruiting efforts, indicating a bright future for the program as it builds a competitive team.
