The Michigan Panthers have secured a spot in the United Football League (UFL) championship, and quarterback Bryce Perkins has been recognized for his outstanding performance this season by being named the 2025 UFL Offensive Player of the Year. This accolade marks a significant achievement in Perkins’ career, making him the first quarterback to earn this honor, a shift from last year’s recipient, St. Louis wide receiver Hakeem Butler.
The selection of the award involved input from a diverse panel comprising league and team executives, coaches, players from all eight teams, as well as media representatives. Despite facing injury and being limited to seven games this season, Perkins demonstrated exceptional skill and tenacity on the field, earning three Offensive Player of the Week awards that contributed to his All UFL honors.
For the season, Perkins ranked fourth in passing yards with a total of 1,342, tied for second in passing touchdowns at nine, and achieved a remarkable completion percentage of .690. His performance consisted of completing 109 out of 158 passes with just two interceptions and adding 269 rushing yards from 47 attempts, showcasing his dual-threat capability.
The Panthers, fresh off their USFL championship victory, are set to compete for the UFL title against the XFL champion DC Defenders on June 14 at 8 p.m. The highly anticipated game will be held at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis and will be broadcast live on ABC.
This achievement for Perkins not only highlights his personal growth and impact in the league but also adds excitement for the Panthers as they aim for further success in the championship game. Fans and supporters can look forward to an exhilarating match-up as the Panthers strive to claim the UFL title.
