Michigan’s football program has secured its second commitment for the 2027 recruiting class with the addition of Tristan Dare, a three-star offensive lineman from Southlake Carroll High School in Texas. Dare made the announcement on Monday, choosing the Wolverines over a competitive field of 29 offers, which included notable programs like Ohio State, Penn State, Oklahoma, Florida State, and Florida.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 290 pounds, Dare is ranked as the No. 496 overall prospect nationwide and the No. 28 interior lineman according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Despite his projection to play in the interior of the offensive line at the collegiate level, he currently plays right tackle for a prominent Texas high school program known for its excellence.
This commitment adds to Michigan’s momentum in recruiting, as Dare joins fellow three-star offensive lineman Louis Esposito, the son of the Wolverines’ defensive line coach, in the 2027 class. Michigan has been particularly successful in recruiting from Texas lately, having landed three prospects from the state in the 2025 cycle and currently holding four verbal commitments for the 2026 class.
This continuing trend showcases Michigan’s commitment to strengthening its offensive line while establishing a strong pipeline from Texas. It highlights the coaching staff’s reach and appeal to top-tier talent across the country, promising a bright future for the Wolverines’ football program.
