Michelle Beadle appears to be channeling her recent Croatian vacation into the potential concept for her own travel show. The sports broadcaster, who was let go from SiriusXM last month, shared a glimpse of her trip on social media which featured sun-soaked sightseeing and a scenic boat ride.
In her Instagram post, Beadle humorously referred to her vacation as “My Croatia Dump” while expressing a desire for a travel show opportunity, stating, “Or I get a damn travel show…” This comes on the heels of her departure from SiriusXM, where Beadle and her co-host Cody Decker were replaced by a new program led by well-known ESPN host Stephen A. Smith.
Beadle described her dismissal as blindsiding, noting her discomfort with the manner of the transition, especially since she’s had a contentious history with Smith dating back to 2014. She expressed feelings of disrespect regarding being replaced without acknowledgment of her contributions and has not shied away from criticizing Smith’s past remarks, particularly regarding sensitive topics like domestic violence.
Despite the challenges she has faced, Beadle remains active in the broadcasting field, continuing to host the show “Run It Back” on FanDuel TV alongside former NBA players and participating in select broadcasts for the San Antonio Spurs. She maintains a podcast called “Over the Top,” co-hosted with Peter Rosenberg, which reflects her dynamic presence in the media landscape.
Her recent vacation may serve as a refreshing pivot, suggesting that she is ready to explore new creative endeavors. With her experience and visibility, there is hope that Beadle could find a new platform to showcase her talents and experiences. There’s optimism that the travel show could become a reality, blending her broadcasting skills with her passion for exploration.
