Michael Lohan, the father of actress Lindsay Lohan, was released early from the Palm Beach County Detention Center on Sunday, having originally been sentenced to nine months at the end of April. He was granted credit for 28 days already served, as noted in court documents.
Post-release, Lohan expressed gratitude for his early return, hinting at undisclosed details by stating, “there’s a lot more to the story than what’s being reported.”
The 64-year-old was initially booked into Palm Beach County Jail on March 16 for violating probation related to a previous domestic violence charge stemming from an incident in Texas. On February 21, Lohan was arrested by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office due to allegations of assault, strangulation, and repeated violations against his wife, who described instances of stalking to the authorities.
Lohan’s legal troubles don’t end there. In 2021, he faced charges for patient brokering in Palm Beach County, where he was accused of referring drug addicts to treatment centers for illegal kickbacks, receiving over $27,000 during his presidency at Lola Recovery Ventures in Palm Beach Gardens.
As part of his sentencing conditions, Lohan will be required to complete an additional 48 months of probation.
This situation sheds light on the ongoing challenges within families dealing with legal issues and substance abuse. With Lohan’s commitment to follow through with probation, there is hope for a turn towards a better path ahead.
