Michael B. Jordan will not be called as a witness in the ongoing sex trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, despite his name being mentioned during jury selection. According to sources, jurors were asked if they recognized several celebrities, including Jordan, due to their connections to the case. Reports indicate that Jordan was noted because of his past association with Cassie Ventura, who is expected to testify under her real name.
Ventura filed a lawsuit against Combs in November 2023, alleging sex trafficking and domestic violence, which led to numerous other accusers coming forward with similar allegations. In her lawsuit, Ventura disclosed that she had a “flirtatious relationship with an actor” in 2015, and when Combs learned of it, he allegedly threatened the actor, who sources confirm is Jordan.
Combs faces serious charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution, to which he has pleaded not guilty. His trial commenced with jury selection on May 5, following his arrest in Manhattan and indictment in the Southern District of New York in September 2024.
The indictment details incidents that prosecutors describe as “freak offs,” involving organized sexual performances that reportedly coerced participants, including both women and male sex workers. If found guilty, Combs could face a life sentence in prison, having already been denied bail multiple times during his time at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
This ongoing trial highlights significant societal issues surrounding abuse and coercion, making it an important case to follow. The outcome may have far-reaching implications, potentially empowering victims to speak out and seek justice against their abusers.
