To coincide with METALLICA’s two upcoming concerts at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, a pop-up shop has opened in the city. Located at the corner of West Shunk Street and South 23rd Street, the shop opened on May 22 and will remain operational until May 25 at 6 p.m. This “M72” pop-up shop offers fans exclusive merchandise related to METALLICA’s latest album, “72 Seasons,” including a splatter vinyl edition, screen-printed posters, event tees, and specially designed skateboards. A popular collaboration item, a new Dixxon Flannel Co. shirt, is also available among other METALLICA merchandise, such as Yeti-branded products.
The Philadelphia concerts, scheduled for May 23 and May 25, are part of METALLICA’s “No Repeat Weekend” tradition, where each show features different setlists and opening acts. The first night will see performances from LIMP BIZKIT and ICE NINE KILLS, while the second night will feature PANTERA and SUICIDAL TENDENCIES.
In conjunction with the concerts, the “takeover” events initiated on May 20 offered fans a week filled with METALLICA-themed activities, including discussions with guitarist Kirk Hammett, an art show, live performances, and a blood drive, highlighting the band’s connection with the community.
Since launching in April 2023, the “M72” tour has already attracted over three million fans globally. With numerous accolades praising the show experience, the tour will continue into 2025, returning to Europe and later to North America for additional dates. As part of their mission to give back, METALLICA’s All Within My Hands foundation will distribute a portion of every ticket sale to local charities. The foundation has significantly contributed to career and technical education, food insecurity efforts, and disaster relief, showcasing the band’s commitment to making a positive impact.
