After a successful year of touring for their 2023 album, “72 Seasons,” Metallica has announced that they will continue their tour into next year, making a stop in Philadelphia.
On Thursday, organizers revealed that the upcoming tour will feature four additional bands: Pantera, Limp Bizkit, Suicidal Tendencies, and Ice Nine Kills. The band will also continue its No Repeat Weekend tradition, presenting different opening acts and set lists for back-to-back shows.
The tour is set to kick off in April 2025, with Metallica performing two shows at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on May 23 and May 25.
Local fans can get the latest news by signing up for NBC Philadelphia’s News Headlines newsletter. Tickets will be available starting next Friday, September 27, 2024, at 10 a.m.

The band will also return to their roots with two hometown shows in Santa Clara, California, on June 20 and 22, 2025.
The tour will include stops at two college football stadiums in Syracuse, New York, and Blacksburg, Virginia.
The M72 World Tour’s 2025 schedule will kick off with a festival appearance on April 12 at Sick New World in Las Vegas and will feature two sets at the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, Ohio, on May 9 and 11.
Metallica will also make their long-awaited return to Australia and New Zealand next year.
