After a year-long tour promoting their 2023 album, “72 Seasons,” Metallica is set to continue their tour into next year, with exciting stops planned, including Philadelphia.
Tour organizers announced on Thursday that the 2025 leg of the tour will feature four additional bands: Pantera, Limp Bizkit, Suicidal Tendencies, and Ice Nine Kills. The band will also maintain their No Repeat Weekend concept, which will showcase different opening acts and set lists for the two consecutive shows.
The tour is scheduled to kick off in April 2025, with Metallica making two stops in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field on May 23 and May 25.
Tickets will go on sale starting next Friday, September 27, 2024, at 10 a.m.
In addition to Philadelphia, the band plans to perform in Nashville for the first time in five years, with shows on May 1 and 3, 2025. Metallica will also return to Tampa, Florida, for the first time in 15 years, with performances set for June 6 and 8, 2025.
Additionally, Metallica will perform in their hometown of Santa Clara, California, with shows scheduled for June 20 and 22, 2025. The tour will also include stops at college football stadiums in Syracuse, New York, and Blacksburg, Virginia.
The M72 World Tour for 2025 will feature two major festival performances, starting with the opening night at Sick New World on April 12 in Las Vegas. The band will also headline two sets at the Sonic Temple festival on May 9 and 11 in Columbus, Ohio.
