Metal Church has invigorated their lineup with the introduction of three new prominent members: bassist and vocalist David Ellefson, known for his work with Megadeth; drummer Ken Mary from Flotsam And Jetsam; and vocalist Brian Allen, who has previously performed with Trauma and Dark Arena. The band’s founding guitarist and keyboardist, Kurdt Vanderhoof, continues to steer the group alongside guitarist Rick Van Zandt.
This exciting phase for Metal Church has begun with the release of their new track, “F.A.F.O.,” which was produced by Vanderhoof and mixed by the renowned Zeuss, who has worked with acts like Rob Zombie and Hatebreed. The band is currently eyeing a 2026 release for their fourteenth studio album, with additional details to be revealed in the future.
Reflecting on the revitalization of the band, Vanderhoof expressed his astonishment over having new music coming out in 2025, calling it a miracle after 45 years in the business. He shared, “There was a time when I honestly didn’t think Metal Church would continue, but we’re back—and this lineup is firing on all cylinders.” He highlighted the anticipation surrounding “F.A.F.O.,” describing it as an aggressive thrash track that he believes fans will thoroughly enjoy.
Metal Church is set to perform live at several upcoming festivals, showcasing their renewed energy and talent:
– August 5: Brutal Assault Festival in Josefov, Czech Republic
– August 8: Alcatraz Festival in Kortrijk, Belgium
– August 9: Keep It True Festival in Geiselwind, Germany
As Metal Church embarks on this new journey with a fresh lineup and upcoming releases, fans can look forward to an exciting revival in the band’s storied legacy.
