McDonald’s Monopoly Pieces Missing as Promotion Winds Down

In the closing week of McDonald’s popular Monopoly promotion, numerous customers across the nation are expressing frustration over the reported unavailability of property game pieces. The promotion, which has generated excitement among patrons, allows customers to earn rewards by purchasing qualifying menu items that contain physical game pieces.

The game operates by having customers order specific items bearing the Monopoly Property sticker, which can then be peeled off to redeem prizes through the McDonald’s app. However, many individuals, like Kylee Corcoran, have found their orders lacking these crucial game pieces. Corcoran shared her experience of receiving a large soft drink without a game piece, which she discovered only after checking her cup.

Social media has quickly filled with complaints from other customers facing similar issues. In a separate incident in Naugatuck, mother Caitlyn Rhodes ordered a large Macchiato, a drink listed as eligible for a game piece. Unfortunately, she received a cup without the piece, later being informed by staff that it wasn’t part of the promotion.

Despite the growing concerns, NBC Connecticut has yet to receive a response from McDonald’s regarding these reports. Rhodes, who remains hopeful of winning a new Jeep through the game despite being aware of the odds, expressed her disappointment. “It’s just kind of sad that that’s taken from us right now when it’s something that’s supposed to bring us joy,” she lamented.

Some locations have posted signs at ordering kiosks stating, “Due to high demand from the MONOPOLY at McDonald’s promotion, this location may be out of packaging with game pieces,” urging customers to consult team members about availability. For those who find themselves without a game piece, one customer reported success in contacting McDonald’s customer care via email, although it’s unclear how consistent that response may be for others.

With the promotion running through November 2 and being stated “while supplies last,” the window for obtaining those much-coveted game pieces is narrowing. Rhodes plans to reach out to the corporate office after hearing others share similar experiences on social media. She emphasized the significance of the game in lightening spirits during challenging times, stating, “It may seem very silly or trivial to others, but it’s just like that little light to have when there’s so much darkness.”

As the days count down to the end of the promotion, many customers remain hopeful that their concerns will be addressed and that they’ll have a chance to participate fully in the excitement of McDonald’s Monopoly.
