McDonald’s Meal Deal Extension Sparks Fast Food Frenzy!

McDonald’s has announced that its popular $5 meal deal will be available for a few more weeks. A memo obtained by Bloomberg indicates that most McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to extend this promotion, which originally started on June 25.

The meal bundle will be offered at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the exact duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some extending it through August.

As consumers continue to face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s promotion appears to be successful. Recent data from foot traffic analysis firm Placer.ai showed a marked increase in customer visits to McDonald’s after the introduction of the bundle, demonstrating its appeal among shoppers.

This move has prompted competition among other fast casual dining chains, which are now introducing their own promotions in response. For example, Arby’s has launched a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Meanwhile, Burger King has extended its own $5 “Your Way Meal,” asserting it will last longer than the McDonald’s deal, and has introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also entered the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
