McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, following a positive response from customers. According to Bloomberg, a memo revealed that most McDonald’s locations across the U.S. have opted to prolong the promotional offer, which initially launched on June 25 and was set for a four-week period.

The meal bundle will be available at nearly 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration of the offer may vary by location, with some extending it until August.

As consumers face rising food prices and tighter budgets, the $5 meal deal has proven to be a successful strategy for McDonald’s. A foot traffic analysis by Placer.ai showed a notable increase in visitors to McDonald’s outlets following the introduction of the deal, indicating its popularity among diners.

This move has prompted competitors in the fast-casual dining space to respond with their own promotional offers. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box along with its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King has committed to extending its own $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle beyond the McDonald’s timeframe, alongside new items in its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the competition, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
