McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, according to a memo from the fast-food chain. The promotion, which initially launched on June 25, will continue at approximately 93% of McDonald’s locations across the United States, although the duration of the extension may vary by restaurant, with some opting to keep the deal available until August.

This comes at a time when many consumers are struggling with increased food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, making McDonald’s bundle an appealing option. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s following the introduction of this promotion, indicating its effectiveness in attracting diners.

In response to McDonald’s success, other fast casual restaurants are also launching competitive deals. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, and Sonic has rolled out a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell has joined the fray with a $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Meanwhile, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer duration than McDonald’s offering, and it has also added new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has introduced its own deals, featuring a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
