Fast food leader McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several additional weeks.

According to a memo from the company, a majority of its U.S. locations have agreed to continue the promotion, which first began on June 25. The meal deal will be available at about 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, with the duration varying by location; some franchises may keep the offer going until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, McDonald’s affordable meal bundle has proven beneficial for the company.

Recent analysis by foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai revealed a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s following the introduction of the deal, indicating it has struck a chord with diners.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has caught the attention of other fast casual dining brands, leading many to introduce their own competitive offers. Arby’s has launched a $9 meal option, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently introduced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, in addition to its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In addition, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s offer and unveiled new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
