Fast food giant McDonald’s has announced that its $5 meal deal will be available for a few more weeks. According to Bloomberg, citing a memo from the company, most U.S. McDonald’s locations have agreed to extend the promotion beyond the initial four-week period that began on June 25.

The meal deal will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some outlets opting to continue the offer until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast-casual dining sector, McDonald’s meal deal has proven advantageous for the company. A report from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai revealed a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s locations shortly after the introduction of the bundle, indicating strong consumer engagement.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has prompted other fast-casual chains to respond with their own deals. For instance, Arby’s has launched a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. In June, Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box in addition to its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Meanwhile, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available longer than McDonald’s offering, and it has incorporated new items into its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s is also participating in the promotional landscape with a $3 breakfast bundle and has introduced a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
