McDonald’s, the fast-food giant, has decided to extend its $5 meal deal promotion for a few more weeks. According to a memo cited by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to continue the offer past its initial four-week launch on June 25.

The meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the duration of the promotion may vary by location, with some opting to keep the deal available until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast-casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has proven to be a successful strategy for the company. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s locations shortly after the promotion was introduced, highlighting its appeal among patrons.

The popularity of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast-casual chains to introduce their own promotions to compete. Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle, while Sonic has unveiled a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King stated it would extend its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle beyond the timeframe of McDonald’s promotion. The chain also announced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Similarly, Wendy’s has introduced a $3 breakfast bundle, along with a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
