McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, as reported by Bloomberg. According to a memo from the fast-food chain, most of its U.S. locations have agreed to continue the promotion beyond its initial four-week launch, which began on June 25.

The meal deal will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some extending it until August.

This move comes as consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast-casual dining sector. The bundle has proven beneficial for McDonald’s, helping to attract more customers during tough economic times.

Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a noticeable increase in customer visits to McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the introduction of the deal, indicating its strong appeal to consumers.

In response, other fast-casual chains are also launching competitive deals. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has started a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box along with its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu in June.

Burger King had previously announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be extended beyond the McDonald’s promotion period, and they also introduced new items for their “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has launched a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
