McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for a few more weeks due to positive consumer response. According to a memo shared by Bloomberg, a significant number of McDonald’s locations across the U.S. have decided to continue the promotion beyond its initial four-week period, which began on June 25.

The meal deal will be available in approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, though the specific duration of the offer may vary by location. Some franchises are planning to extend the deal through August.

As consumers face rising food prices, especially in the fast casual dining sector, this bundle has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. A recent analysis by Placer.ai indicated a significant increase in foot traffic at McDonald’s locations shortly after the launch of the $5 meal deal, highlighting its appeal to customers.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has prompted competitors to respond with their own deals. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In a similar vein, Burger King has stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle will continue longer than McDonald’s offering, and it recently introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and has introduced a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
