McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks due to its positive reception among consumers. According to a memo, a significant number of McDonald’s locations in the U.S. will continue the promotion, which initially began on June 25.

The meal bundle will be available in approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration of the promotion may vary by location, with some franchises planning to offer it until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, especially in the fast casual dining sector, this deal has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a considerable increase in customer visits to McDonald’s after the introduction of the bundle, indicating its appeal to shoppers.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has prompted competing chains to introduce their own value deals. For instance, Arby’s has rolled out a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently introduced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box along with its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In addition to this, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would remain available longer than McDonald’s offering and introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the trend with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
