McDonald’s has announced that its $5 meal deal will be available for several more weeks, extending a promotion that initially launched on June 25. A memo cited by Bloomberg revealed that most U.S. McDonald’s locations have agreed to continue the promotion beyond the original four-week timeframe.

The meal bundle will be offered in approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the nation, although the duration of the promotion may vary by location, with some restaurants choosing to extend the offer until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s meal deal has proven effective for the chain. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s in the days following the launch of the meal bundle, indicating strong consumer interest.

This successful promotion has prompted other fast casual dining chains to introduce their own competitive deals. Arby’s has rolled out a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and its Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King extended the availability of its $5 “Your Way Meal” beyond the original McDonald’s promotion and announced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Additionally, Wendy’s has introduced a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
