Fast food leader McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo, a significant number of U.S. McDonald’s locations have opted to prolong the promotion, which originally started on June 25.

Approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide will continue to offer the deal, although the duration may differ from one location to another, with some extending it until August.

As consumers navigate rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has proven to be beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a noticeable increase in customer visits to McDonald’s locations following the introduction of the meal deal, highlighting its popularity among consumers.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has prompted rival fast casual dining chains to respond with their own deals. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has created a permanent $1.99 value menu. In June, Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Burger King previously announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would have a longer run than the McDonald’s deal. Additionally, Burger King plans to introduce new offerings as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s is also joining the competitive landscape with a $3 breakfast bundle and has introduced the $5 “Biggie Bag” combo.
