McDonald’s is extending its $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo from the company, a majority of its U.S. locations have agreed to maintain the promotion, which was originally launched on June 25 for a four-week period.

The meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, though the duration of the promotion may differ depending on the location. Some outlets have decided to continue the offer until August.

This move comes as many consumers are facing high food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, making McDonald’s deal appealing during this challenging economic period. Recent data from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicates that the introduction of this bundle has significantly increased customer visits to McDonald’s restaurants, showing a positive consumer response.

In response to McDonald’s success with the deal, other fast casual dining chains are implementing their own promotions to compete. Arby’s has launched a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King has extended its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle beyond the initial timeframe, while also enhancing its menu. Wendy’s has also joined the trend, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
