McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for a few more weeks, following a positive response from customers. A recent memo indicated that most McDonald’s locations in the U.S. would continue the promotion past its original four-week duration, which started on June 25.

According to reports, the meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the specific duration may vary by location, with some choosing to keep the deal active until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in fast-casual dining, McDonald’s value offering appears to be attracting more customers. Following the introduction of the meal deal, a report from foot traffic analytics company Placer.ai showed a significant increase in visits to McDonald’s outlets, indicating strong consumer interest in the promotion.

The success of McDonald’s meal deal has prompted other fast-casual dining chains to adjust their strategies. Arby’s has launched a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box and continues to offer its $5 Taco Discovery Box alongside a Cravings Value Menu.

Similarly, Burger King has stated its $5 “Your Way Meal” will be available longer than McDonald’s deal and has recently added new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s is also participating in the competitive landscape with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
