McDonald’s, the fast food leader, is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo from the company reported by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have opted to prolong the promotion, which initially started on June 25 for four weeks.

The $5 bundle will continue to be available at about 93% of restaurants nationwide, with the duration of the promotion varying by location; some outlets may keep the deal going until August.

As consumers grapple with rising food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, the McDonald’s meal deal has proven successful for the company. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicated that the promotion led to a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s restaurants shortly after its launch.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast casual dining chains to introduce their own promotions. Arby’s has released a $9 bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box as a limited-time offer and continues its $5 Taco Discovery Box alongside the Cravings Value Menu.

Similarly, Burger King has claimed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would outlast McDonald’s offer and has introduced new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also participated in the promotional race, launching a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
