Fast food giant McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for a few more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most U.S.-based McDonald’s locations have agreed to continue the promotion beyond its initial four-week launch that began on June 25.

The deal will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although its duration may differ by location, with some restaurants extending the offer until August.

This promotion comes at a time when many consumers are facing higher food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector. McDonald’s bundle has proven beneficial for the company, as evidenced by foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai, which indicated a significant increase in customers visiting restaurants shortly after the promotion was introduced, highlighting its appeal to consumers.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own offers. For instance, Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Burger King is also in the mix, stating that its $5 “Your Way Meal” will be available longer than McDonald’s promotion, along with new items in its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has likewise joined the competitive landscape with a $3 breakfast bundle and has introduced the $5 “Biggie Bag” combo.
