Fast food chain McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to reports, most McDonald’s locations across the U.S. agreed to continue the promotion, which initially started on June 25.

This meal bundle will remain available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s outlets nationwide, although the specific duration of the promotion may vary by location. Some restaurants have chosen to maintain the deal until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, the McDonald’s bundle has proven beneficial for the company. Recently, foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai revealed a notable increase in customer visits to McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the promotion was launched, indicating that the offer has struck a chord with diners.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast casual chains to respond with their own promotional offers. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent value menu priced at $1.99. Taco Bell also announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box in addition to a $5 Taco Discovery Box and its Cravings Value Menu.

Competitors are also extending their meal deals; Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” will be available longer than McDonald’s offering. They have also added new items to their “Fiery Menu.” Additionally, Wendy’s has introduced a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
