McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, according to a memo reported by Bloomberg. This promotion, which first began on June 25, is now set to be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s locations across the United States. However, the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some franchises choosing to keep the deal active until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, this bundled offering appears to be benefiting McDonald’s. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai noted that the introduction of the meal deal led to a significant increase in customer visits shortly after its launch, highlighting its popularity among consumers.

The move has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own offers. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has implemented a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its ongoing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Meanwhile, Burger King has indicated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle will remain available longer than McDonald’s promotion, while also unveiling new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s is also keeping pace by offering a $3 breakfast bundle and has recently launched a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
