McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for a few more weeks, according to a recent memo from the fast food chain. Initially launched on June 25, the promotion was supposed to last for four weeks, but a majority of U.S. locations have opted to continue offering the deal.

The $5 bundle will be available in about 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the exact duration of the promotion may vary by location, with some franchises planning to extend it through August.

As consumers face high food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s meal deal has proven beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai indicated that following the introduction of the bundle, McDonald’s experienced a significant increase in customers.

The success of this promotion has prompted other fast-casual restaurants to launch their own competitive deals. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has added a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box and continued to offer its $5 Taco Discovery Box along with a new Cravings Value Menu.

In May, Burger King stated it would keep its $5 “Your Way Meal” available longer than the McDonald’s deal, while also announcing additional items for its “Fiery Menu.” Similarly, Wendy’s has rolled out a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag,” joining the competitive landscape of value meals.
