McDonald’s Extends $5 Meal Deal: What You Need to Know!

McDonald’s will extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, according to a memo from the fast food chain. The promotion, which began on June 25, has been agreed upon by the majority of U.S.-based McDonald’s locations and will be available at approximately 93% of its restaurants nationwide. However, the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some restaurants planning to continue the deal until August.

This move comes as consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector. The $5 meal deal seems to have had a positive impact on McDonald’s, as foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in customer visits following the introduction of the bundle, indicating its popularity among diners.

Other fast casual chains have taken notice and initiated their own promotional offers in response. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, along with its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, in late May, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s promotion. The chain is also expanding its menu with new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s is participating in the promotional trend as well, featuring a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
