McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo from the company reported by Bloomberg, most of its U.S. locations have agreed to continue the promotion, which initially began on June 25.

The meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s locations nationwide, though the duration of the offer will differ by site. Some restaurants plan to maintain the deal until August.

With consumers facing rising food costs, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has proven to be beneficial for the company.

Recent analysis by foot traffic tracking firm Placer.ai revealed that the chain experienced a noticeable increase in customers shortly after introducing the bundle, indicating its appeal to diners.

This discount initiative has prompted other fast casual chains to respond with their own promotions. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal deal, while Sonic has rolled out a permanent $1.99 value menu. In addition, Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box along with its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s offering, while also planning to add new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has entered the promotion space with a $3 breakfast bundle and has launched a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
