McDonald’s, the renowned fast food chain, has decided to continue its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, a significant number of U.S. McDonald’s locations have agreed to extend the promotion, which originally started on June 25, beyond its initial four-week period.

The meal deal will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some restaurants choosing to keep the deal available until August.

As consumers face increased food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, McDonald’s bundle has proven effective in attracting customers. A recent analysis by foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicated that the promotional bundle resulted in a notable increase in visitors to McDonald’s locations shortly after its introduction.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast casual dining establishments to respond with their own promotions. Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced that it would be offering a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In response to the competitive environment, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would remain available for a longer duration than McDonald’s promotion, and it has also introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s is competing with its own $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo option known as the “Biggie Bag.”
