McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for a few additional weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most of the U.S.-based McDonald’s locations will continue this promotion, which originally started on June 25 for a four-week duration.

The meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, though the specific continuation of the promotion may differ depending on the location. Some outlets have chosen to maintain the deal until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, especially in fast casual dining, McDonald’s value meal has proven beneficial for the company. Recent data from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicated that following the introduction of the deal, McDonald’s experienced a notable increase in customers visiting their restaurants, demonstrating the promotion’s positive reception.

The success of McDonald’s $5 meal deal has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own offers. Arby’s has launched a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Similarly, Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and an ongoing Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King announced its own $5 “Your Way Meal” would run longer than McDonald’s offer, while also introducing new items as part of their “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also entered the competitive landscape with a $3 breakfast bundle and has recently rolled out a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
