McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for a few more weeks, as confirmed by a memo from the fast-food chain. The initial promotion launched on June 25 for four weeks but will now be available at approximately 93% of U.S. locations. The duration of the offer may vary by restaurant, with some locations choosing to continue the deal through August.
This decision comes as consumers navigate rising food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, making the McDonald’s bundle an attractive option for budget-conscious diners. According to Placer.ai, a firm that analyzes foot traffic, the introduction of the meal deal has led to a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s locations.
Moreover, the success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast casual restaurants to introduce their own promotions. Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle, while Sonic has added a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box, alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.
In a competitive response, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for an extended period, building on its earlier efforts to introduce new items with its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also entered the promotions fray, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and introducing a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
