McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for a few additional weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, the majority of McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to continue the promotion, which was initially launched on June 25 for four weeks.

The $5 meal deal will be available at approximately 93% of the restaurants nationwide, although the exact duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some opting to extend it into August.

As consumers grapple with rising food prices, particularly in the fast-casual dining sector, this bundled offering has proven successful for McDonald’s. Recently, foot traffic analytics company Placer.ai observed a significant increase in customer visits shortly after the promotion started, indicating that the deal has been well received by patrons.

This initiative has also prompted other fast-casual dining chains to respond with competitive offers. For example, Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent value menu priced at $1.99. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and value menu.

In late May, Burger King indicated that its own $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would last longer than McDonald’s promotion and introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
